We opened the new Skidmore Trail for CT Trails Day on June 5, 2021!

Pine groves, rushing streams, Ice Age rock formations and more await on the Skidmore Preserve - WLT’s hidden gem on Blue Swamp Road. Approx. 1 mile of moderate terrain. Apropriate footwear recommended.

The WLT thanks supporters of the recent Give Local event and dedicated volunteers for contributing to the creation of the new trail, a trailhead kiosk and a parking area.

The entrance to the Skidmore Preserve is located on the Warren/Litchfield town line, 224 Blue Swamp Road, Litchfield (GPS).

Connecticut Forest & Park Trails Day is a national event that pays tribute to all the wonderful trails our country has to offer. If there was ever a time to celebrate our amazing Connecticut trails, 2021 is it! Trails and open spaces have become the places to escape to and enjoy in challenging times.
