Imagine an enchanted land with forests, trails, streams, swamps, dramatic rock formations...it's right here in Warren!
You have the chance to preserve this land - forever! With your support of Give Local, the Warren Land Trust will be able to complete the acquisition of 237 stunning acres on Cunningham Road to be protected in perpetuity. New trails will be built to mesh with those on the abutting Kent Land Trust preserve and the Wyantenock State Forest, immensely expanding hiking options. By linking these woodlands, a large contiguous area will be created and wildlife habitat will be protected and sustained in keeping with the Follow the Forest initiative -
This historically significant property is also includes the homestead of Charles G. Finney, 19th-century religious leader and President of Oberlin College, and the Finney Monument, erected by Oberlin students in his honor.
This land will become one of the jewels of the Warren Land Trust with your generous help and a destination for nature lovers from near and far. All your 2023 Give Local donations to the WLT will go directly to acquiring this new preserve and related improvements, such as kiosks and parking areas. Any funds left over will be added to WLT’s general fund and dedicated to maintaining and updating WLT's other preserves.
The Give Local online campaign will be from Tuesday April 25th at 7am until Wednesday April 26 at 7pm.
